History of Dream Catcher Publishing
In early 2002, Dream Catcher Publishing's founder, Dwan
Hightower, embarked on a publishing adventure. Dwan has been writing novels
and short stories since an early age. With her first novel published in
2001 and finding herself surrounded by gifted authors who were not finding
any support in publishing their books, she formed her company.
Almost immediately, manuscripts began coming to her from friends, and
friends of friends. She stopped accepting them after receiving ten, which
would be two years worth of printing for her new company. After drawing
up author contracts with her attorney, she was in business. She lined
up several retired college English professors to function as editors and
other friends to serve as readers and proofers. She used her book club
to review several of the books.
The Board of Directors was formed and had their first meeting on March
24, 2002.
Dream Catcher's books include suspense, romance, contemporary westerns,
non-fiction, children's books and poetry.
